Those who claim Formula 1 is deadly boring should eat their words after watching Austrian Grand Prix, in Spielberg we have seen one of the most fascinating races so far this season, here are the main highlights.
Everybody is talking about the crash incident involving the two Mercedes. However, Verstappen has shown his driving skills beating not only his team mate, Ricciardo, but also the Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen. With this outstanding race the Dutch demonstrates why he was relocated to Red Bull. Follow him; he is set to be a world champion
Points for Manor and McLaren
If there is a team bursting out of happiness is Manor, the British outfit scored one point placing Pascal Wehrlein in 12th place. The last time Manor Racing made it to the points was in Monaco, with Jules Bianchi on the starring wheel. Regarding McLaren, it goes without saying the remarkable race Jenson Button did. The Bristish, starting third, finished the race on P6 and bring back to the garage something to celebrate.
Carlos Sainz making a name for himself
Sainz future has been in the spotlight for the last weeks before, yet the rumors shut down following his contract extension with Toro Rosso. Many teams on the grid have shown their interest for the Spanish and today in Austria he has put another fantastic race to his CV. Sainz started 15th and with a new engine and was able to climb up to sixth place, no wonders why everybody wants him.
Force India, the unlucky one
Black day for the Indian-British team, Nico Hulkenberg starting front row on the grid not only did he retire but got a five-seconds penalty for exceeding the pit lane speed. In addition, we believe his start could have been quite better. His mate, Checo Pérez was having a great performance, but could not finish the race either. We expect a better result for Force India in Silverstone; they will be racing at home…
From Red Bull Ring… to Mercedes boxing ring?
Relationship between Rosberg and Hamilton is getting worse. The two Mercedes drivers lighted up the final lap when Lewis overtakes the German just after a crash between them both. Rosberg ended up forth and is being investigated. One chapter added to such intense fight, no complain, though; we appreciate Mercedes allow them to have their battles on the truck.
